Remcon has built heavy-duty recycling equipment since 1977 and produced more than 1,500 systems, some of them running up to 20 conveyors. The pages below take five of those builds and work through them properly: what the plant or the machine actually demanded, and which design decision answered each demand.
What These Pages Are
Every Remcon conveyor is built to order. Nothing is pulled from stock, which means every machine that leaves the shop started as a set of constraints somebody described over the phone: this material, this building, this machine at the discharge end, this much floor. A catalog page can tell you what Remcon builds. A job file tells you how a specific set of constraints turned into a specific machine.
Each write-up follows the same order. What the application demanded, how the conveyor was built to meet it, and what a buyer with a similar problem should be asking. Where a build has a number attached to it in the record, the number is here. Where it does not, the page says what Remcon's production range is instead of guessing at the machine.
Customers Are Not Named
Plants and OEMs are described by what they do rather than by who they are, and no customer, sorting-equipment brand, or OEM partner is identified on any of these pages. Remcon builds conveyors, structures, and chutework around machinery made by other manufacturers on a large share of its work, and that relationship is not ours to publish. If you want references, ask and we will arrange them directly.
The Five Builds
From the installation files
- E-Sort optical sorting system — the high-speed conveyor and containment hood, the support structure and access, the feed equipment, and the compressed air, all around a sorting machine Remcon did not build.
- Catalytic converter recycler infeed conveyor — a beltless drag chain with steel flights, above ground on its own legs, feeding a sorting line with steel-cased material that would ruin a belt.
From the OEM job files
- Articulated feed conveyor with an adjustable incline angle — three sizes of shredded wood metered into an experimental pressing machine, with a pivot placed so changing the angle costs no belt tracking.
- Steep-incline 3-lane conveyor with a 2-way diverter chute — three sorted streams kept apart on one belt, lifted 50 degrees where there was no floor to spare, discharging into tote bins that swap without stopping the belt.
- 96-inch high-speed quick-change (endless) belt conveyor — the widest quick-change endless belt conveyor Remcon has built, framed so the belt goes on from one side without a forklift holding the machine up.

Optical sorting work goes back to 1998 here, and the count of high-speed optical sorting conveyors built since then is past 150. Everything is designed, welded, and assembled at the shop in Airway Heights (Spokane), Washington, then shipped and installed nationwide by Remcon's own crews.
Reading a Job File for Your Own Project
The useful part of somebody else's build is rarely the machine. It is the constraint that produced it. If the write-up that resembles your plant is the one where the floor ran out, or the one where the material eats belts, or the one where a wear part stops the line every time it is changed, that is the conversation to start. Why are the customers on these project pages not named?
Because a large share of Remcon's work is building conveyors, support structures, and chutework around machinery made by other manufacturers, for plants and OEMs who did not ask to be published. Plants are described by what they process and OEMs by what their machine does. If you want to speak to a reference, ask and we will arrange it directly rather than publish it.
Can Remcon build the same machine again for us?
Every Remcon conveyor is built to order, so nothing here is a catalog item to reorder, but every design decision in these write-ups is available to draw on. In practice a project starts from the constraints rather than from a past machine: the material, the building, the equipment at each end of the run, and the floor available. Tell us those and we will spec and quote it.
How much of a system will Remcon take on?
Anything from one conveyor to a complete line. Remcon designs, fabricates, ships, and installs with its own crews, and integrates equipment it does not build, such as optical sorters, disc screens, and vibratory feeders, along with the support structures, platforms, and transition chutes that connect them. Remcon has produced more than 1,500 systems since 1977, some running up to 20 conveyors.
Does Remcon install outside Washington State?
Yes. Installation crews typically run 2 to 4 people, arrive fully equipped, and travel anywhere in the United States and Canada. Crews that size are also what makes it practical to install in a plant that has to keep running, which is how most of this work happens.
