Services Offered:
RUBBER / PVC BELT REPAIR & REPLACEMENT
Rubber or PVC belts for slider bed and idler conveyors
ENDLESS BELT SPLICING
Remcon can supply and prepare belts to be hot or cold-bonded endlessly on site. We developed our own special process to bond belts endlessly onto high-speed conveyors for optical sorting that are up to 112" wide and only 16-20' long. On these conveyors, due to their speed, wide with, and short length, alignment is critical for proper tracking, etc. Because of this, our extra attention to detail for splicing accuracy typically exceeds that of local belt suppliers.
CHAIN BELT REPLACEMENT
Complete design, fabrication, and installation. Various options for all components, including cross members and cleats.
REPLACEMENT OF CHAIN BELT PARTS
Most brands and styles available. Parts can be ordered and replaced individually as needed.
REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF DAMAGED SECTIONS OF BELT
WORKING PARTS REPLACEMENT
Remcon will help you decide if any working parts need to be replaced at the same time as a belt replacement. We can also inspect parts on-site during the belt replacement process, bring spare parts that might be needed, and return most parts that aren't needed if they aren't kept on hand for future spare parts.
We can offer replacements of any working parts we use on our conveyors, as well as replacements for other brands of conveyors, such as:
CUSTOM PARTS REPLACEMENT
Remcon is able to fabricate many different custom parts for most brands of conveyors. In addition to replicating existing parts, we would be happy to discuss any problems you are having with existing parts to try to develop an improved version. Contact us to discuss your parts needs in further detail.
ASSESSMENT & REPAIR OF CONVEYOR STRUCTURE DURING BELT REPLACEMENT
A scheduled belt replacement is usually a good time to inspect and repair damage inside the conveyor that cannot be easily seen or accessed while the belt is on the conveyor. This also makes the best use of the amount of time the conveyor is out of service for maintenance.
Remcon can help you try to assess as much damage ahead of time as possible, so that we are able to pre-fabricate or prepare as much as we can prior to shutting the conveyor down for maintenance. This serves to both keep the overall cost of the project down, as well as minimize the amount of on-site time that is spent fabricating parts.
We can also arrange to have the materials on hand to fix any other damage that is discovered during the course of the installation process, which we start looking at as soon as we get on site. If there are unused lengths of steel left, we check ahead of time to make sure we can have them returned back to the supplier, if the customer does not need to keep those materials for future repairs.

- Delamination of plies – Our delamination methods remove the layers of carcass and cover accurately and completely, so that the mating surfaces are completely smooth. This provides full bonding contact. The plies are removed gently, without the strong pulling forces commonly applied to belts, which can distort the fabric and cause a crooked connection. The area of bonded overlap is greater than what is common for the industry, producing a stronger bond.
- For cold-bonded belts, in order to get the strongest bond, the initial coats of glue need to be applied ahead of time and let dry thoroughly in between coats. When Remcon provides a replacement cold-glue bonded belt, the first coats of glue will be applied by us in our shop before shipping and allowed plenty of cure time. The belt will be shipped with enough glue to do the final coat when the belt eventually gets bonded on the conveyor. So when the time comes to install the belt in the field, it will be ready for a final coat of glue without any waiting. Remcon will arrive on-site with all the necessary tools and equipment to glue and clamp the belt, using either a complete Remcon crew or a Remcon-supervised crew of your own.
- For hot-bonded belts, Remcon can either order the belts with fingers cut by the belt company, or Remcon can also accurately cut different styles of fingers into the belt. When the belt needs to be installed on the conveyor, the ends just need to be aligned together in the belt press and are hot vulcanized together. These belts are ready to run as soon as they cool down.
